Penthouses are the most expensive apartments in The Sims 4 City Living. Rent typically starts at 2,500 Simoleons per week and can go as high as 5,000 Simoleons per week.

The most expensive penthouses are located in the uptown area of San Myshuno. They offer a great view over the city and feature very expensive furniture.

The 888 Spire Apartments is the most expensive apartment in The Sims 4 City Living. Rent costs $7,500 per week. On top of that, your Sim needs to pay a $37,500 deposit just to move in.

The apartment is comprised of two beds and three baths. It also offers a great view thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows.

The runner-up is the VIII Landgraab apartment. This two-bed apartment costs $5,000 per week with a $25,000 deposit.

As you can see, the nicer the apartment, the higher the rent.

Low rent equals trouble

Well, not everybody can afford to pay thousands of Simoleons per week to live in the center of San Myshuno.

If your Sim is on a budget, they can easily find an apartment for 300 or 400 Simoleons per week. However, you should expect to experience a lot of issues with such a low rent.

For example, you can move into the 1313 21 Chic Street apartment. You can rent it for only 300 Simoleons per week.

But you should know there’s a strange chalk outline in the apartment suggesting the place might have been the scene of a murder.

Another example is the 17 Culpepper House apartment. Your Sim can rent it for only 400 Simoleons per week but there’s a catch.  The apartment has the Gremlins lot trait which means that household items will break down every night.

The 1310 21 Chic Street apartment costs 400 Simoleons per week but has the Lively Neighbors trait which means your Sim won’t be able to sleep at night.

Living in an apartment building in San Myshuno is not always fun. Noisy neighbors can prevent your Sims from falling asleep through loud music or woohooing.

There are also advantages to living in an apartment.

If your Sim is really outgoing and loves being surrounded by friends, they can give their friends a key to the apartment. This allows your Sim’s friends to drop by and use household items without triggering negative moodlets.

Does your Sim value comfort over money? Do they prefer to pay a higher rent in exchange for comfort and peace of mind? Let me know in the comments below.
