Enabling Auto-Lights can help you reduce your bills in The Sims 4 but it won’t be a whole lot. Auto Lights will only turn on when Sims enter a room. In this manner, you can reduce your electricity consumption and save up a few Simoleons.
To set lights to Auto, click on lights in Live mode to bring up the Options menu. Then, select Auto-Lights and set every light in the room to be always on.
Selecting Auto-Lights on all lights will make your gameplay more realistic. If you think about it, you don’t have all the lights on in all the rooms in real life.
The Sims 4 relies on a complex system to calculate your bills. If you keep getting high bills, this typically indicates you have high-value objects in your household.
Bills are a monthly version of property tax. The value of your lot and home, including household and inventory items, are the main elements that determine how high your bills are.
As far as electricity is concerned, if you have Seasons, the only utility that can make your electricity bills skyrocket is the thermostat.
Use it only when absolutely necessary.
Turning on Auto Lights won’t significantly reduce your bills. Depending on the number of rooms you have, you can save around 50-150 Simoleons by setting lights to Auto.
However, you’ll need to do more than that to further lower your bills.
For example, you can get the Frugal trait, install solar panels, get rid of expensive items, or move to a smaller house.
As a quick reminder, The Frugal trait can help you reduce your bills by a whopping 25 percent.
If you don’t pay your bills, electricity will be cut off within 48 hours, and the water supply will be cut off after 96 hours.
Happy Simming!
