Why won’t my Sims go to work in Sims 4?
Fix 1: Get a new outfit
If your Sim’s outfit got corrupted, they won’t go to work. Change their outfit to fix this problem. Click on your Sim and select Change Outfit.
To avoid outfit-related issues in the future, it’s best to simply delete the problematic clothing items.
If this method doesn’t work, try deleting all the extra outfits that your Sim may have.
Fix 2: Repair the game files
If changing the work outfit didn’t help much, try repairing the game files. Launch Origin, go to your game library, right-click on The Sims 4, and then select Repair.
Wait until the process is complete and launch the game again. Check if your Sim can go to work now.
Fix 3: Travel to another lot
You can quickly fix the issue where your Sim won’t go to work by going to another lot. Then send them to work from that lot.
Alternatively, you can also move out temporarily. Have your Sim move out to a different lot. Save your progress. Then, have them return to the previous lot and household.
Check if this quick workaround solves the problem.
Fix 4: Check if the front door is blocked
Make sure your Sim can open the front door and go to work. If something’s blocking the door, they have no way to leave the house. If the door itself has an issue, you can quickly resolve it by replacing it with a new door.
If your Sim lives in a mansion, ensure the stairs are fully functional.
Fix 5: Reset your Sim
Resetting your Sim is usually the last solution to fix your unresponsive Sim. To do that, press CTRL, Shift, and C to open the Cheats Console. Then type resetSim Firstname Lastname and hit Enter.

None of these worked.
1. Dressers in Sims 4 have never given me an option to change into work outfits.
2. Origin allows me to repair the game. Did so, restarted computer and game. No change.
3. Traveling to another lot whenever it’s time for her to go to work is a workaround, not a fix, but didn’t work either.
4. When I use the suggested instructions to reset the character, I get the message, “Sim not found.”
