List of Elden Ring bugs and potential fixes

elden-ring-bugs

Elden Ring is one of the most popular games in the world. Millions of gamers are exploring the Lands Between fighting huge monsters and powerful enemies.

But sometimes, unexpected glitches and bugs may ruin the fun. For example, some weapons are bugged, key quests won’t unlock, Elden Ring crashes without a warning, and so on. Let’s discuss how you can fix some of the most common Elden Ring bugs.

Elden Ring bug report: Here’s what could go wrong

Invisible enemies

Due to incompatible graphics settings, Elden Ring is sometimes unable to render enemies on your computer. Enemies become invisible for your character, which makes their attacks even more surprising. Try disabling GPU scaling to solve the problem.

This is one of the most annoying glitches affecting Elden Ring players. Do comment below and let me know if disabling scaling fixed the issue.

FPS drops

You may sometimes experience severe FPS drops during boss fights. To fix this issue on PC, lower your graphics settings, update your GPU drivers to the latest version, and set the game to high performance.

If you’re playing on a PS5 console, as a workaround, you can install and play the PS4 version of the game.

Players fall through the map

There are various strange spots on the map where you’ll fall through. Many players won’t survive the drop. You’ll then become stuck on a black screen. If you miraculously manage to survive the drop, you should be able to jump back into the map with Torrent.

Your character may sometimes fall through the Elden Ring map because textures fail to load properly. Bottomless holes are then randomly created on the map.

How to fix this glitch

  • If you’re playing on Steam, verify the integrity of your files.
  • Wait for 5-10 minutes after loading the game for Elden Ring to fully render the maps.

Players get stuck floating in midair

Your Elden Ring character may sometimes get stuck floating in midair. You can try to jump, crouch, swing your sword, nothing helps. Eventually, you’ll die due to prolonged extensive airtime.

Elden Ring crashes to desktop

Elden Ring may sometimes crash unexpectedly. To fix this issue, disable Steam in-game overlay. Additionally, force-stop background problems from the Task Manager. Then, make sure your computer is not overheating. Clean the fan and ensure your device is placed in a well-ventilated area.

Weapon glitches

  • Eleonora’s PoleBlade, and Rivers of Blood are bugged. There’s no scaling from Dexterity or Arcane although these weapons support scaling.
  • Weapons may become invisible after resting at a Site of Grace. Restart the game to fix the issue.
  • There’s a bug with the Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone that decreases weapon damage after upgrading to +25.

Well, that’s it for our list of Elden Ring bugs.

Did you encounter other glitches apart from the ones already mentioned in this post? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. The first pillar that’s to the right after fighting the mimic tear and crossing bridge in nokron is bugged and isn’t there, the one that’s sort of under the bridge where theres no enemies. Most walkthroughs count it as number 1 but where it’s supposed to be on the cliff,it’s just missing. I’ve reloaded, teleported back and forth in and out of area and no luck. Just to help clear up which one it is,it’s to the regal ancestor fight, only six pillars, and I have all of the but this one. Guess I’ll have to update….
