Elden Ring: Here’s why you’re not getting invaded

Elden-Ring-not-getting-invaded

Are you well into 25 hours of gameplay in Elden Ring and you’re still not getting invaded? You’re not the only one. Unlike other Dark Souls games where you get invasions on Day 1, that won’t happen in Elden Ring. That’s not how the invasion system works in Elden Ring.

Why am I not getting invaded in Elden Ring?

You cannot get invaded when playing solo in Elden Ring. You can only get invaded in co-op mode. If you’re playing solo and want to get invaded, you need to have summons with you or use a special item called Taunter’s Tongue.

When you’re getting invaded, you can have between one and three weapon levels higher than your invaders. If you’re outnumbered but stronger than the invaders, they’ll have to work together to defeat you.

Use the following network settings to enable invasions:

  • Cross-Region Play: Perform Matchmaking
  • Send Summon Sign:  Enable
  • Launch Setting: Play Online
  • Data Usage Agreement: Hit Accept

Players simply don’t want to invade

Even if you’re using the Taunter’s Tongue, your chances of getting invaded are pretty low. People simply don’t want to invade. Being destroyed 2v1 is not fun at all. There’s no real incentive for invaders to attack you.

Most players are trying to follow the main story and unlock as many items as possible. They want to embark on as many side questlines as possible before committing a Cardinal Sin which automatically locks uncompleted side quests.

When they’re done with one scenario, many people may want to play as a different character. After all, Elden Ring supports up to 10 different character slots. Maybe you want to play as a Hybrid class or a female character. Many players find these options much more interesting than invading other fellow gamers.

How many hours into the gameplay did you get invaded? Is there anything you’d change about the current invasion system in Elden Ring? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. I like the Dark Souls style of invasion. RED or DARK for invasion. BLUE for revenge. Hell, that’s what makes this game unique! PLEASE?!
