Elden Ring: Gurranq got aggressive, should I kill him?

Gurranq-aggresive-Elden-Ring

In Elden Ring, you can give Deathroot to Gurranq in exchange for various incantations and weapons. But after the fifth Deathroot, he’ll suddenly turn hostile. This unusual behavior can be quite confusing. Here’s what you need to do to solve the problem.

What should I do when Gurranq gets aggressive?

When Gurranq gets aggressive, you have no choice but to fight him. He usually becomes hostile after the 5th Deathroot. You need to beat him down and deplete 25 percent of his health to force him to surrender. After the battle, reload the area. He’ll stop attacking and give you the Beast Claw Incantation.

Gurranq will even apologize for his usual behavior. Rest assured, you did not do anything wrong. He automatically becomes aggroed onto you after the fifth Deathroot, it’s part of his questline.

⇒ Important Note: Always give Gurranq one Deathroot at a time. The NPC often bugs out and won’t give you all the items you deserve.

What happens if I kill Gurranq?

If you kill Gurranq early in the game, you’ll be locked out of this questline. Rhis means you’ll lose all the rewards that come through his questline. He’ll also drop an ancient dragon smithing stone when killed.

But you don’t have to kill him when he becomes aggressive. Simply wail on him and he’ll surrender when you’ve hurt him enough. Beat some sense into him, let him live, and when you come back, he’ll give you additional rewards.

Using Celestial Dew has no effect on Gurranq, you can’t revive him.

And now you know.

Did you kill Gurranq after he got aggressive? Or did you spare his life after he surrendered? Let me know in the comments below.
