Where do I find Deathroot in Elden Ring?

Elden-Ring-Deathroot-locations

Deathroot is a rare currency in Elden Ring. You can trade it for various incantations, the Beastclaw Greathammer, and more. For example, you can use the Sling Incantation to throw rocks at enemies. If you’re low on HP, use the Vitality Incantation to regenerate health.

Let’s see where you can find Deathroot in the game.

Where can I find Deathroot in Elden Ring?

You can find Deathroot in the following Elden Ring locations:

  • Summonwater Village
  • Carian Study Hall
  • Wyndham Ruins
  • Snow Valley Ruins
  • Stargazer’s Ruins
  • Deathtouched Catacombs
  • Gelmir Hero’s Grave
  • Black Knife Catacombs
  • Mountaintop of Giants

When you’re near one of these locations, the Beast Eye will quiver.

How many Deathroot items are there in Elden Ring?

There are nine Deathroot items available in Elden Ring. They’re scattered all over the map:

  • Four Deathroot items are dropped by the Tibia Mariner bosses at Summonwater Village, Wyndham Ruins, Snow Valley Ruins, and Stargazer’s Ruins
  • Four Deathroot items can be found in the chests located in the Deathtouched Catacombs, Black Knife Catacombs, Gelmir Hero’s Cave, near the Haligtree Site of Grace, and Mountaintop of Giants.

The fastest way to get your hands on Deathroot in Elden Ring is to kill the Tibia Mariner bosses. You can find the first boss at Summonwater in East Limgrave. The next Tibia Mariner bosses can be found at the Wyndham Ruins, Snow Valley Ruins, and the Carian Study Hall in Liurnia of the Lakes.

Trade Deathroot for rewards

When you’re ready, you can meet Gurranq, the Beast Clergyman and trade Deathroot in exchange for various items. You can find him at the Sanctum in Dragonbarrow.

Make sure to give him one Deathroot item at a time. If you give him multiple items, he might sometimes fail to give you all the items you deserve.

Here’s what Gurranq will give you in exchange for Deathroot:

  • 1st Deathroot: Clawmark Seal weapon
  • 2nd Deathroot: Sling incantation
  • 3rd Deathroot: Vitality incantation
  • 4th Deathroot: Beast’s Roar which is an Ash of War
  • 5th Deathroot: Beast Claw incantation
  • 6th Deathroot: Stone of Gurranq
  • 7th Deathroot: Beastclaw Greathammer Weapon
