There are three main reasons why your Sims keep getting into random brawls with everyone: the Roughhousing Encouraged NAP is active, it’s the Neighborhood Brawl Holiday or your Sim has the Curse of Unwarranted Hostility.
Roughhousing Encouraged NAP
If your Sim keeps fighting with everyone, this indicates the Roughhousing Encouraged Neighborhood Action Plan is active. When this NAP is voted, your Sim will stop whatever they’re doing and autonomously get into random brawls.
Sims with a high relationship bar will get into fights too. They’re not immune to the effects of this NAP.
These brawls will quickly get the attention of nearby Sims. They’ll abandon all queuing actions and stop to watch the brawl.
You can disable this NAP to prevent Sims from being mean towards other Sims.
As a quick reminder, NAPs are available in Eco-Lifestyle. If you don’t own this expansion pack, most likely your Sim has been cursed.
Curse of Unwarranted Hostility
If your Sim has the Curse of Unwarranted Hostility, they’ll often get dragged into random brawls. To check if your Sim is affected by this curse, open the Needs panel and check if there’s a green boxing glove icon under your magical charge meter.
The presence of this icon indicates your Sim has the Curse of Unwarranted Hostility that’s causing other Sims to hate your Sim.
Your Sim can be inflicted by this curse only if you have Realm of Magic installed.
Neighborhood Brawl Holiday
If you have Seasons installed, check if it’s the Neighborhood Brawl Holiday. Sims will keep getting into fights on this day. This is a randomly generated holiday.
Your Sim will have to get into multiple fights to complete the Neighborhood Brawl tradition.
The Neighborhood Brawl Holiday often causes your Sim’s reputation to drop. The reputation drops come from the calls your Sim gets from other Sims after hearing you got into a fight.
Well, fighting is still fighting, even if it’s part of a holiday or tradition.
You can cancel the event in your calendar if you want to prevent random brawls and negative sentiments.
Negative effects of random fights
Sims will get a negative sentiment after getting into random fights. The “Grudging after a fight”, “Festing Grudge”, “Hurt”, and “Furious” sentiments are quite common after a fight. The tension will remain high for a while.
Random fights can sometimes ruin your gameplay. For example, if you’re running a restaurant, customers will randomly start fighting each other or your staff throughout the opening hours.
You’ll lose lots of Simoleons due to these random brawls. Instead of ordering food, customers will get up to watch or join the fights.
By the way, after two or three consecutive brawls, your Sims will get the Dazed Moodlet for two hours.
The ultimate negative social interaction
Fighting is the ultimate negative social interaction in The Sims 4. When two Sims dislike each other, they can yell at each other, and utter countless insults.
You can also use the Declare Public Enemy option if you’re absolutely sure you want to cut off all contact with a Sim you don’t get along with.
When pressure is too high and the conflict too intense, Sims will often get into nasty brawls.
Speaking of brawls, if you have Werewolves installed and you’re planning to defeat Greg, you’ll need to level up your Fitness skill and get into an Energized mood if you want to stand the slightest chance of defeating him.
Happy Simming!
