If your plants keep disappearing in The Sims 4, this indicates the game is glitched. The Sims 4 has been affected by this problem ever since Cottage Living was released.
This issue is even more annoying if your Sim is a Freelance Botanist and has a lot of plants.
Some Simmers said that plants disappeared when they clicked on bulk actions such as “Tend Garden”. Don’t use bulk actions, select individual actions instead, and check if you notice any changes.
What to do if your plants keep disappearing in The Sims 4
Put the plants in your inventory
If your plants keep disappearing in The Sims 4, put them into your household inventory while in Build Mode and then put them back out into the world.
Your plants should show again as normal.
You can also enable cheats, and shift-click on the pile of dirt that was once your plant. Then, click on Set Gardening State, select Growth Stage, and then Mature.
Wait until the right season comes
If you have Seasons installed, keep in mind that certain plants will only grow in certain seasons. When the game changes seasons, these plants will wither and die.
If your plants are out of season, they won’t grow until that season comes back.
Remove the Great Soil lot trait
If you’re using the Great Soil lot trait, remove it to prevent plants from disappearing.
Many Simmers confirmed that removing this lot trait solved the problem for them.
Apparently, this trait is broken. A broken lot trait could explain why so many Simmers have been experiencing this issue lately.
