Sims-4-how-to-use-spices

You can buy spices from the food stalls at the Spice Festival. The event takes place in the Spice Market district of San Myshuno. There are four types of spices that you can buy:

  • Chilli Powder
  • Curry
  • Saffron
  • Wasabi

You need The Sims 4 City Living expansion to attend the Spice Festival and try out food from different cultures.

How to use spices in The Sims 4

Your Sim needs to have high enough Cooking skills to use spices. You can use spices only in certain recipes that you can learn by visiting the Spice Festival in San Myshuno.

Your Sim needs to learn the recipes that use spices by eating them at the festivals before they can cook those dishes.

When a Sim tries city food from various food carts, they will instantly learn the recipes. They can then cook those dishes at home provided they have all the necessary ingredients.

For example, if your Sim loves Japanese cuisine, have them eat traditional Japanese dishes at the festivals and make sure to buy lots of Wasabi.

Spices will also lower the overall cost of recipes.

By the way, there are 27 delicious recipes your Sim can unlock by ordering food from the food carts scattered in San Myshuno. But not all of them have spices as ingredients.

How do I unlock Spice Tolerance in Sims 4?

Sims will feel uncomfortable when eating spicy food for the first time. The only way for Sims to get the Spice Tolerance skill is to have them eat spicy food until they unlock the Spice Hound trait.

On average, it takes 5 rounds of spicy food to unlock this trait.

Some Sims will unlock this trait in one try. Have your Sims join the Spicy Curry Challenge and they should develop Spice Tolerance very quickly.

After unlocking the Spice Hound trait, your Sims will feel comfortable eating any type of spicy food. They’ll never find any food too spicy.

They’ll also get the Happy buff after eating spicy meals.

Happy Simming!
