If you are a fan of The Sims 4, you may have come across the Robo Arm. This is a fascinating accessory that Sims can use to boost their Robotics and crafting skills.
In this guide, we’ll take a closer look at the Robo Arm and its functions. Whether you are a seasoned Sims player or new to the game, here’s what you need to know about this interesting accessory.
By the way, you need The Sims 4: Discover University expansion pack to craft this item.
How to craft a Robo Arm in The Sims 4
To build a Robo-Arm in The Sims 4, you need to level up your Sim’s Robotics skill. Once you’ve reached Level 7 of the Robotics skill, you can craft Robo-Arms at the Robotics Workstation for 1,000 Simoleons.
Click on the workstation, select Craft Cybernetics, and then select the Robo-Arm option.
Parts required to build a Robo-Arm:
- Electronic Upgrade Part x 4
- Common Upgrade Part x 6
- Computer Chip x 4
- Mechanism x 8
- Robot Salvage Part x 2
The only downside to building a Robo-Arm is its cost. One thousand Simoleons is a lot of money. But if your Sim wants to master the Robotics skill that’s an investment worth making.
Is there a cheat for unlocking the Robo-Arm in The Sims 4?
If you don’t want to up your Sim’s Robotics skill to Level 7 to unlock the robotic arm, you can find it in Debug.
Press Ctrl, Shift, and C and type testingcheats on. Hit Enter and then type bb.showhiddenobjects and bb.showliveeditobjects. Hit Enter after each command.
Go into Build Mode, type debug in the search bar and you should find the Robo-Amr in the list of Debug items.
Alternatively, you can use the stats.set_skill_level Major_Robotics 7 cheat code to max out your Sim’s Robotics skill. Then, Shift-click on the Robotics Workstation and select Spawn Crafting Supplies.
Click again on the workstation, select Craft Cybernetics, and then select Robo-Arm.
You’ll find the Robo-Arm in your Sim’s inventory. Click on it and select Equip Robo-Arm.
What does the Robo-Arm do?
The Robo-Arm allows Sims to level up their Robotics skill 25 percent faster. It also boosts their crafting speed by 20 percent. At the same time, it reduces the chances of your Sim getting shocked while working on the Robotics Workstation.
By the way, if you want to completely negate the rate of being shocked, you need to max out your Sim’s Robotics skill.
Don’t use the Robo-Arm when wearing full-body outfits
The Robo-Arm will replace your tops and keep your pants.
However, there’s a minor problem with adding a Robo-Arm when wearing full-body outfits. Full-body outfits don’t have separate pants and tops. When you’re rearing the Robo-Arm, your Sim will have no pants on.
You can remove the cybernetic arm anytime and your Sim’s outfits will go back to normal.
How to get rid of a stuck-on Robo-Arm
To get rid of the Robo-Arm, click on your Sim and select Remove Robo-Arm.
If you encounter a stuck-on Robo-Arm while playing The Sims 4, the MCCC mod is the quickest solution for removing it. Install MCCC, go to MC Cheats, select Cheat Sim Info, click on Mood/Buff Control, and select Remove All Buffs.
Another solution is to turn your Sim into a vampire.
Have them take their vampire dark form, and then make them “human” again. Your Sim should lose all their buffs after becoming human again, including that annoying stuck-on robotic arm.
You can use also MCCC to change your vampire back to a human when they’re in their dark form as a vampire.
