How can I replenish my mermaid powers faster?
The Hydration motive gradually declines when a mermaid is outside the water. This need depletes faster when mermaids use their special mermaid powers.
To keep using your mermaid powers, you need to replenish your Sim’s Hydration motive by drinking water, swimming, or bathing.
Have your mermaid Sim swim for a few minutes, and you’ll be able to use their special mermaid abilities soon after that.
But there’s an even better solution.
The Forever Fresh reward trait keeps your mermaids’ Hydration motive in the green all the time. The Hydration bar will not go down. This means your mermaids can use their powers without limit.

Most mermaid powers require -30 Hydration to use. On the other hand, some power will deplete your mermaid’s Hydration motive faster.
For example, a Siren’s Call requires -100 Hydration. If you have Seasons installed, your mermaid Sim can clear skies, and call rainstorms or thunderstorms for -75 Hydration.
