Why do my Sims keep getting random phone calls?

The-Sims-4-random-phone-calls

In this quick guide, I’ll list the most frequent reasons why your Sims are getting random phone calls at the worst possible time.

Community Togetherness phone events

The random phone calls that your Sims often get in The Sims 4 are usually triggered by community togetherness phone events. These events came with The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle expansion pack.

Someone just died

If all of your household members get a phone call at the same time, this indicates a family member just died. If you’re playing the Legacy challenge, the patriarch or the matriarch probably died.

The random phone call that everyone gets may also indicate a Sim they were all friends with passed away.

⇒ Long story short

If all the household members get a phone at the same time, this means there’s been a death in the family or someone they were all friends with died.

Prank phone calls

Sims will occasionally get prank phone calls in The Sims 4. The call will say something weird, such as “They’re coming for you” and you can choose what happens next.

If you ask the caller to reveal their identity your Sim will get an Angry moodlet. Or you can simply hang up the phone.

Invitations by phone

Townies and NPCs may give you random phone calls to invite you to various events. They’ll often ring you up and ask you to hang out.

Unfortunately, these invitations can be really disruptive. If you’re focusing on completing a specific goal for multiple family members, getting random invitations by phone can disrupt your focus.

Former nannies will often call the kids and invite them to hang out.

No option to schedule event invitations for later

Unfortunately, there’s no option to schedule event invitations for later. When the phone rings, you can either reject the invitation or stop whatever you’re doing and accept it.

What do you think about the random phone calls that your Sims get in The Sims 4? Do you find them disruptive or do you simply ignore them?
