The Sims 4: Harvest Prairie Grass to Get Hay

The-Sims-4-Prairie-Grass

In The Sims 4: Horse Ranch expansion pack, you can harvest Prairie Grass and feed it to your horses. Just click on the Prairie Grass patch and choose Harvest Prairie Grass.

Once harvested, the Prairie Grass will be added to your inventory.

To feed Prairie Grass to your horses, click on your horse’s feeder and select Refill Feeder with Prairie Grass.

You’ll find Prairie Grass growing abundantly throughout the neighborhoods of Chestnut Ridge.

Keeping some Prairie Grass in your inventory allows you to hand-feed your horses, which will help you bond with them faster.

By the way, having a good relationship with your horse will boost skill gain.

For those taking on the Rags to Riches challenge, make sure to always harvest Prairie Grass whenever you come across it in the world.

The alternative is buying hay for 30 Simoleons each time you want to refill your horse’s feeder.

During trail rides, horses have the chance to naturally graze from patches of Prairie Grass.

Random Stuff Hiding in Prairie Grass

You can also search prairie grass patches and discover random items such as random Nectar bottles hidden among the leaves.

Unfortunately, this option appears much less frequently than the option to harvest prairie grass.

Enable the Wild Prairie Grass Lot Challenge

Sims-4-Wild-Prairie-Grass-Lot-Challenge

If you enable the Wild Prairie Grass lot trait, Prairie Grass will grow wild on your lot.

If you don’t keep it under control, it will start invading your garden.

To prevent that from happening, bring a few Mini Goats and Mini Sheep to your ranch.

Level up your friendship with them and then kindly ask them to help you keep out the weeds.

You can use Prairie Grass to make Nectar and feed your horses.

If making Nectar and raising horses are on your priority list, by all means, enable the Wild Prairie Grass lot trait.

It will actually come in handy.

Enjoy exploring the countryside with your trusty horse!

Happy Simming!
