The Sims 4 Horse Ranch expansion pack lets you raise horses on your ranch. Not only that, but you can also train horses to improve their Agility and Jumping skills, as well as Temperament and Endurance.

How to Train Horses in The Sims 4 Horse Ranch

To level up your horse’s skills in The Sims 4, head over to the equestrian park and give them some training.

Maneuver them through horse barrels to work on their Agility.

Have them jump over obstacles to improve their Jumping skills.

To train your horse’s Temperament, spend time talking and caring for them.

For building Endurance, take your horse on long rides.

Building a solid bond with your horse goes a long way in helping them gain skills more effectively.

Spend some quality time together and watch those skills soar!

How to Level Up Your Horse’s Skills Faster

Horses with the Champion Genes trait will gain skills much faster.

To unlock this trait, focus on helping your horse master one of the four horse disciplines: Agility, Jumping skills, Temperament, or Endurance.

Once they’ve mastered one of these disciplines, they’ll get the Champion Horse trait.

When a horse with that trait breeds, the Champion Genes will be passed to the foal.

How to Perform Better in Equestrian Competitions

To perform better in equestrian competitions, you need to max out your Sim’s Horse-Riding skill and your horse’s Agility, Jumping skills, Temperament, and Endurance.

Make sure all of their needs are in the green before the competition starts. They must be fed and cared for properly.

There are four types of competitions available: Barrel Racing, Show Jumping, Endurance Racing, and Western Pleasure competitions.

If you’re planning to compete in Barrel Racing, focus on leveling up your horse’s Agility.

Having excellent Jumping skills is crucial for the Show Jumping competition.

If Endurance Racing is your goal, focus on developing your horse’s endurance.

A Sim with a low Horse-Riding skill will get kicked off their horse more frequently.

On the other hand, a highly-skilled Sim won’t be kicked off their horse easily.

Compete in Equestrian Competitions

Equestrian competitions take place at the Equestrian Center in Chestnut Ridge.

Your Sim and their horse can compete in Barrel Racing, Show Jumping, Endurance Racing, and Western Pleasure competitions.

If your Sim has the Championship Rider aspiration, they can enter the Ultimate Horse Championship, which is the highest division of competition.

To enter the Ultimate Horse Championship, you’ll need to place well in the low-level competitions first.

Winning competitions grants Sims Simoleons, trophies, and access to compete in higher divisions.

If your Sim is a horse breeder, taking care of all their horses can be quite challenging. You can hire a Ranch Hand to help you with all of those ranch chores.

Happy Simming!
