After 8 long years, The Sims 4 finally got a normal size telescope. Sims can now observe the sky without using the bulky backyard observatory. You can place the pocket-size telescope in your back yard and moon gaze all night long.
Install the latest Sims Delivery Express updates to get your hands on the normal telescope.
Then, enter Build Mode, type in telescope in the search field, and select the Back Pocket Observatory.
If you have Werewolves installed, you’ll also get Avelina’s Trusted Telescope.
Lore-wise, Avelina used this handy telescope to study the phases of the moon and their effects on Werewolf Fury. She made important discoveries in astronomy.
Sims 4 Telescope Death
The normal size telescope also adds a new type of death: Death by Meteorite. You may also call it Death by Telescope since only Sims using a telescope run the risk of getting clobbered by meteorites.
Of course, Sims will get a clear warning of incoming meteorites. But they only have a few seconds to find shelter. Death by Meteorite is instantaneous.
The ghost of a Sim that died from being hit by meteorites has a tiny meteorite burning on their chest.
If you want your Sim to get struck by meteorites and die, have them moon gaze or star gaze for hours on end. The longer they watch the sky, the higher the chances of getting killed by meteorites. This type of death occurs pretty frequently.
I’ve tested the Death by Meteorite mechanic and the game always triggered the feature after watching the sky for 4-5 consecutive nights.
It’s as if it knew I wanted my Sim to meet her creator as soon as possible.
Telescope disappears from lot
If your telescope suddenly disappears from your lot, most likely someone stole it. Some townies that have the kleptomaniac trait often steal random objects from your lot. If you have Get Famous installed, chances are Stan is the culprit.
And now you know.
