Sims that go through a Midlife Crisis need more adventure and exciting events in their lives. Every day is just the same old thing, and your Sims feel they’re not getting any younger.

These feelings will trigger a life-changing crisis that will change the way they see the world.

Watch out for these signs of midlife crisis in The Sims 4

Before getting into a full-blown midlife crisis, Sims will get various buffs such as The March of Time moodlet. They feel that time is passing way too fast and suddenly realize they’re not getting any younger.

Surprise, surprise!

The buffs your Sims get depend on the kind of midlife crisis they’ll experience.

They may also get the Desire for Excitement buff which indicates your Sim is feeling bored and wants more out of life.

Next, they’ll get the What Happens Now buff. This indicates your Sim is at a crossroads and doesn’t know what to do next. Life didn’t pan out the way they thought it would.

When you get a Midlife Crisis Alert, you know your Sim has hit the breaking point in their life. The daily grind of life has burnt them out and they desperately need to take a break.

How do I overcome a midlife crisis in The Sims 4?

Sims that are in the middle of a midlife crisis will set a series of goals  and desires  they think can get them out of the crisis.

The fastest way to overcome a midlife crisis in The Sims 4 is to help your Sim fulfill their desires as quickly as possible.

The catch is that these goals are optional. You can help your Sim reach their goals or let them suffer through a midlife crisis.

But if you do fulfill some of your Sim’s midlife crisis goals, the crisis lasts a bit shorter.

Midlife crisis desires are automatically replaced with new ones when completed.

Keep an eye on the moodlet that lets you know how long the midlife crisis will last for.

By default, midlife crises last for 7 in-game days in The Sims 4.

Once the midlife crisis has passed, your Sim will go through a resolution phase reflecting on who they are in life.

They’ll also get the It’s Not So Bad buff which indicates they made it through a midlife-crisis experience and things aren’t as bad as they originally thought.

They may not be the same Sim they were before this life-changing event but they’re at peace with this.

Once again, you can decrease the length of a midlife crisis by helping your Sim fulfill their goals and desires related to this period of their life.

Keep in mind that your Sim needs to be an adult to experience a midlife crisis. Young adults don’t get to experience midlife crises.

There are four different types of midlife crises that your Sims can go through in The Sims 4 Growing Together.

Let’s take a quick look at them.
