How to spawn the Tragic Clown in The Sims 4
If you want to summon the Tragic Clown in The Sims 4, you need to buy the Tragic Clown Painting. Go into Build Mode, type “clown” in the search bar, and buy the painting for 200 Simoleons.
Hang the Tragic Clown Painting on the wall and have your Sim look at it until the clown shows up in the room.
You may need to use the View Tragic Clown interaction multiple times for the Tragic Clown to come to life and spawn from the painting.
Your Sim will instantly get Very Sad when the Tragic Clown shows up in the room and get the Such Tragedy buff.
When a Sim wears the Tragic Clown outfit, all the Sims near them will feel really sad and get the “Such Tragedy” moodlet.
If you want to make everyone sad, have your Tragic Clown walk into the room.
To get rid of the Such Tragedy buff, you need to walk out of the room.
How to get the Tears of a Clown moodlet
All you need to do to get the Tears of a Clown moodlet is wear the Tragic Clown outfit.
When a Sim wears the Tragic Clown outfit in The Sims 4, they automatically get the Tears of a Clown buff.
By the way, this is a permanent buff. To get rid of it, you need to change your Sim’s outfit.
Misery Loves Company
When two Tragic Clown Sims are together, they’ll both get a temporary Misery Loves Company Happy buff.
They can make each other feel a little bit happier for a short time.
Seeing two Tragic Clowns smiling at each other can look really weird.

Playing as the Tragic Clown in The Sims 4
To play as the Tragic Clown in The Sims 4, go into CAS and use the following items:
- Tragic face paint
- Tragic hairstyle
- Tragic outfit
- Tragic shoes
Your Sim can use additional interactions while wearing the Tragic Clown outfit. For example, they can juggle and tragically try to cheer up other Sims.
Unfortunately, both actions are bound to fail miserably.
Alternatively, you can add the Tragic Clown to your household.
Interact with him, and ask him to join your household once the relationship bar is high enough.
If you add the Tragic Clown to your household, his Tragic Clown status will be removed.
How to make the Tragic Clown go away
The quickest way to get rid of the Tragic Clown is to sell the Tragic Clown painting.
Once the Tragic Clown shows up on your lot, you cannot just ask him to leave.
He may also leave on his own but this usually takes time. Try to use a few mean interactions to speed up the process.
Can you have a baby with the Tragic Clown in The Sims 4?
Sims can have a baby with the Tragic Clown in The Sims 4. Interact with him in a friendly manner until he opens up. Then, use affection and romantic interaction until the option to Try for Baby becomes available.
The children that the Tragic Clown fathers won’t inherit any of his special abilities.
You can also marry the Tragic Clown if you want to.
