If you want to interact with the ghost of a dead Sim, you first need to get them to appear on your lot.
After the Grim Reaper reaps their soul, the game will place an urn on the spot where your Sim died.
But if you leave the urn there, it will take an awful lot of time before the ghost shows up to haunt the remaining Sims.
To make a ghost appear in The Sims 4, have another Sim place the urn of the dead Sim into their inventory. The urn will become a gravestone. Then, go outside, take the gravestone out of their inventory and place it in the world.
The ghost of the dead Sim should show up on your lot after midnight.
How long does it take for a ghost to appear in The Sims 4?
It can take anywhere from 24 hours to 72 Sim hours for a ghost to appear in The Sims 4. To speed up the process, have another Sim mourn their death and place the gravestone on your lot. Your ghost should appear near the tombstone after midnight.
You can’t really control when the ghost of a dead Sim shows up on your lot. Some will show up after one day, others may take two or three days to show up.
What you can do is use the “Strengthen Connection” option to prevent them from leaving the worldly realm too soon.
Once the ghost has appeared on your lot, you can use friendly interactions to build your relationship with it. That’s an excellent way to keep a character in the game if you don’t want them to get culled.
If you’re planning to resurrect a Sim that recently passed away, make sure to keep their ghost near your household. You can then cook Ambrosia to bring them back to life.
By the way, you’ll need one Potion of Youth, one Death Flower, and one Angelfish to cook the Ambrosia recipe.
