The Sims 4: Preserve precious memories with keepsake boxes

You can use keepsake boxes to store mementos of precious family events. Use them to build closer bonds across generations.

By default, elder Sims are the keepers of your family’s keepsake box.

The oldest persons in the family are often the keepers of family history and traditions.

They always have valuable stories and knowledge about ancestors and family traditions that younger Sims can learn from and appreciate.

Elder Sims can only designate a keepsake box once. So, choose your keepsake box wisely.

There are two types of keepsake boxes available in The Sims 4: Growing Together:

  • Cheapskate Keepsake Boxes
  • Basic Keepsake Boxes

You can rename your family’s keepsake box, put it in an elder Sim’s inventory or entrust it to another member of the family.

You need to be very close to that family member to be able to pass the keepsake box to them.

A keepsake box is one of those Growing Together items that allow you to inject a sense of family history into your gameplay.

Feel free to use it to store items related to important events in your family.

Think of it as a box where you keep special family moments.

You can store your grandchildren’s First Tooth certificates, their first school drawings, and other items that have meaning for the family.

Use your keepsake box to change family dynamics

The Ponder the Meaning of Family is an interaction that allows elder Sims to play with the family dynamics.

You can use the power of your family’s legacy to change an existing family dynamic that you may not like right now.

Once again, this interaction is available only for elder Sims. This privilege is an acknowledgment of their contributions, wisdom, and experience.

Elder Sims have lived through more years than young Sims and have experienced more life events.

This gives them a wealth of knowledge and experience that can be valuable to younger Sims.

It is this vast life experience that gives them the privilege to change existing family dynamics.

Happy Simming!
