The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature expansion pack adds two new Fairy Deaths: Emotional Starvation and Emotional Overload.
- Emotional Starvation happens when fairies run out of their Emotional Force need.

Emotional Starvation
Emotional starvation is pretty hard to trigger. Fairies seem to recharge their emotional force automatically, even if left alone.
It’s likely Sims use fairy dust from their inventory, or some hidden recharge happens. So don’t expect your fairy to just die quickly from neglect.
The game warns you when the bar turns yellow, saying your Sim is emotionally starving.
It’s hard to run out by accident—you have to let it happen. It’s similar to how humans starve to death, which takes a long time.
Emotional Overload
The emotional overload builds up in stages:
- Minor
- Major
- Critical
Fairies can get emotionally overloaded if they absorb too many strong emotions too fast.
The animation is like the base game’s emotional breakdowns—hysterical, morphed, or enraged.
Don’t worry, this doesn’t happen suddenly. The game gives plenty of warning before overload kicks in.
If ignored, the emotional overload ends in an emotional meltdown that kills the fairy. The type of moodlet the fairy absorbs affects how this meltdown plays out.
It’s a dramatic and chaotic way for fairies to go, but it also adds some fun, unpredictable gameplay moments. Definitely worth experimenting with.
Beautiful New Fairy Gravestone
Fairies also get a brand-new gravestone, and it’s honestly one of the most gorgeous Sims gravestones ever made. It might be the best-looking one for any occult in the game.
The design fits the fairy theme perfectly and adds a nice touch to their story even after death.
Watch Out for the Lightning Root
There’s another way to die in this pack, and it’s from the Lightning Root plant. Harvesting it can electrocute your Sim. Get zapped twice in a row, and they’ll die.
It’s not a brand-new death type, but it’s easy to trigger by accident. Harvest it safely.
