To make organic compost in The Sims 4, you need to upgrade your toilet to compost. Then, you need to have an insect farm to compost into. Click on your toilet and select Compost into Insect Farm to feed the compost to your bugs.
Basically, the compost you collect from the toilet will be dumped into the bug farm.
Next time your Sim takes an angry poop, use it to feed the bugs. If your bugs are happy and thriving, they’ll make Super Fertilizers that you can use to fertilize your plants.
Watch out for random fires
If you don’t have an insect farm to compost into, your toilet will keep on catching fire. If you don’t empty the bin regularly, all that methane gas will cause nasty fires.
Instead of paying $5 to feed your bugs, click on the toilet and select Compost Into Insect Farm to empty your compost into the bug farm.
Less compost sitting in the toilet bin means less chance of fire.
If you only feed your bugs from your toilets, they’ll never catch fire.
If you’re not planning to build a bug farm, it’s best not to get a composting toilet. The risk of accidentally setting the whole house on fire is just too great.
You can put a metal floor underneath the composting toilet to prevent fire from getting out of control.
However, if your composting toilet combusts when a Sim is using it, they’ll suffer an excruciating Death by Fire if their Energy level is extremely low.
When you see a pile of trash on the ground, click on it and check if the compost option is available. Some piles of trash contain compostable items.
Happy Simming!
