If you have The Sims 4 Get Famous expansion pack installed, I bet you’re looking for a way to disable the annoying celebrity fan reactions. This is one of the worst annoyances in Get Famous.
Your Sim will often interrupt whatever they’re doing when a celebrity shows up in the neighborhood.
For example, if a global superstar decides to randomly walk around on a community lot, an army of Sims and paparazzi will gather around them.
In other words, getting near that celebrity is more important than finishing whatever they were doing.
If a celebrity walks into a restaurant, you can bet the waiter will forget to bring you what you ordered. They’ll be too busy freaking out.
Celebrities often ruin the atmosphere and bring a gaggle of paparazzi ruining dates and events. The worst part is that they don’t even care about the disaster they caused.
If watching your Sim fawning over a celebrity makes you want to exit the game, you’re not alone. But don’t hit the Exit button just yet.
How to prevent celebrity fan reactions in Sims 4
To prevent celebrity fan reactions in The Sims 4, remove the public status of celebrities when they show up in the neighborhood. Alternatively, you can also use MCCC and select the “Make Sim leave” option to send celebrities back to where they came from.
Remove public status
To prevent Sims from freaking out when they see a celebrity, remove the public status of that celebrity. Additionally, tweak the fame settings, and enable the option that reads “All Sims Begin Opted Out of Fame“.
This will keep normal Sims out of the spotlight.
Unfortunately, this is only a temporary solution. The game will generate new celebrities to replace the ones you turned into regular Sims.
You’ll need to repeat the first step every time a new celebrity shows up in the neighborhood.
⇒ Quick Tip:
- If you’re not happy with your Sim’s Fame Perks, you can do a Celebrity Cleanse and reset all of your Sim’s perks.
Use MCCC’s “Make Sim leave” option
MCCC has a handy “Make Sim leave” command that lets you get rid of unwanted celebs instantly. Keep an eye on intruders, and use this option to make them go away.
Get the Townie Overhaul Less Fame mod
If you don’t mind using mods, you can install the Townie Overhaul Less Fame mod. This handy mod will prevent celebrities from invading the lots in your neighborhoods and also reduce the frequency with which the game generates new townies.
However, many Simmers reported this mod messed up their games forcing established Sims to take on roles meant for randomly generated townies.
In other words, the game will high-jack existing Sims forcing them to take on additional roles that weren’t meant for them.
You’ll need to manually repair the mess if you’re not happy with the result.
While this mod may not be the perfect solution for all Simmers, give it a try and check if it works for you.
Give us the option to contain celebrities in Sims 4
Celebrities can wander everywhere they want. They’re rich and famous enough to travel anywhere they want, so to speak.
Did you know that The Sims: Werewolves has introduced an interesting option that allows you to prevent werewolves from wandering into other worlds in their werewolf form?
In a way, this option lets players contain werewolves at Moonwood Mill.
This feature doesn’t prevent werewolves from traveling to other worlds. But it does prevent them from showing up in their werewolf form.
Many Simmers suggested EA should enable a similar option for all the special Sims in the game: vampires, spellcasters, mermaids, celebrities, and Sims from Strangerville.
Alternatively, a lot trait that prevents their appearance could help too.
