Steps to Build a Ranch in The Sims 4

Choose the Perfect Location

Head to Chestnut Ridge, the prime spot for building your Horse Ranch.

Look for a larger lot with enough space to accommodate various ranch-related elements like stables, pastures, and outdoor areas.

The best location to build your ranch is the 64×64 lot.

You have plenty of space to build your ranch and add training facilities for your horses.

Plan the Layout

Plan the layout of your ranch. Decide where you want the main house, stables, barns, pastures, and other features to be placed.

Make sure to leave enough space between structures for pathways and landscaping.

Build and Decorate the Main House

Start by building the main house for your Sims. You can design a cozy farmhouse or a ranch-style home.

Incorporate elements like wooden siding, large windows, and a spacious porch to achieve the ranch vibe.

Furnish the interior with ranch-inspired furniture and decorations. Rustic and country-style furniture pieces work well to maintain the ranch theme.

If you own Cottage Living, feel free to use items from this expansion. They blend perfectly with The Sims 4 Horse Ranch expansion.

Add Stables and Barns

Build stables and barns for your horses and other animals. You can use the pre-made stables or build your own custom stables using various walls, roofs, and decorations.

Create Pastures and Outdoor Areas

Designate outdoor areas for your horses to roam and graze. They’ll love that Prairie Grass!

Use fencing to enclose pastures. Consider adding watering troughs and feeding stations for a more realistic touch.

Decorate the Ranch

Add details to make your ranch feel authentic. Place farming-related objects around the property.

You can also add landscaping elements like trees, shrubs, and flowerbeds to beautify the surroundings.

Bring the Animals

To complete your ranch experience, you’ll need horses. You can either adopt horses from the game’s adoption service or create your own in CAS.
