In The Sims 4, players have access to a plethora of objects that offer additional gameplay options. One such object is the conch shell, an item that can be found in the game’s Island Living expansion pack.
Many players may wonder what the purpose of this item is. Let’s see what blowing the conch does in The Sims 4, and how it can benefit your gameplay.
What happens when you blow the conch in The Sims 4?
You can use the conch to expose mermaids in disguise. When your Sim blows on a conch shell, all the mermaids nearby will gather around you. They’ll come to investigate the sound. They’ll also be making weird dolphin-like noises.
This works even if your Sim isn’t a mermaid.
As a quick reminder, asking any Sim if they’re a mermaid is a sure way to lose relationship points. Avoid using this interaction if you want to make friends with everyone. Blow on the conch shell instead.
When a mermaid in human form blows on a conch shell, other mermaids will join you and do a little happy dance. Your Sim will respond in the same way.
Mermaids can use the conch shell to alter the weather both on land and in the ocean. They can clear skies, and summon rain, or storms.
When mermaids use their Aquatic Lure power, they’ll blow on a conch shell and attract rare fish. Mermaids can use this power near fishing spots.
The Aquatic Lure power also boosts your Sim’s fishing skill.
Where can I find conch shells in The Sims 4?
You can find conch shells by beachcombing for seashells on the beaches in the commercial district.
You’ll find a pile of conch shells near the Kealoha house, another one closer to the fishing net, and another one across the water from the beach lot.
Happy Simming!
