Fix: Sims 4 Paranormal investigator gig not ending

Sims-4-Paranormal-investigator-gig-not-ending

Many gamers who got the Sims 4 Paranormal expansion pack complained that some gigs as a paranormal investigator won’t end.

This issue occurs even if you complete all the tasks, and try to leave early. Cancelling the gig, and restarting the game won’t help.

Unfortunately, Guidry can’t help you either. Somehow, your Sim remains stuck in the event. Let’s explore what you can do to fix this problem.

If your storyline is all about paranormal stuff, this bug is really annoying because it’s basically  ruining your storyline. Follow the instructions below to unstuck your Sim while waiting for EA to roll out a hotfix.

Fix: Sims 4 Paranormal investigator work day not ending

Open CAS and leave it

One quick way to unstuck the Sim is to open CAS and then leave it. Sometimes, you may need to edit your Sim a bit for this method to work. Of course, this means that your Sim won’t complete the job.

As a result, you’ll get no payment, and performance will be lost if you cancel the gig. But at least you can get the Sim out of the gig.

Remove your mods

If you have mods installed, exit the game and remove your mods folder. You can simply move it to your desktop. The, go to Documents/ElectronicArts/Sims4, and delete the localthumbcache file from the folder.

Restart the game, and check if your Sim is still stuck at the gig. If the issue is gone, this means one of your mods is the culprit. Use the 50/50 method to identify the culprit.

Repair the game

If some of your game files got corrupted, repair the game, and check the results. Go to your Origin library, click on The Sims cover art, and select Repair.

If nothing’s working, all you can do is wait for EA to roll out a hotfix. Hopefully, the fix will land in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, you can contact a game advisor for refund demands.
