Many Elden Ring players are still struggling to play Online Mode. When they hit the Play button, the title screen says the game can’t connect to online features. This means you can’t play co-op with friends or summon other players. Let’s see how you can solve this problem.

If you can’t connect to Elden Ring’s servers, most likely the game servers are overloaded. When a lot of players run in to play Elden Rings, the servers may need more time to respond to your connection request. Wait for a couple of minutes, and try again later.
Additionally, navigate to Elden Ring’s main menu and select Play in offline mode. Play the game in Offline Mode for a few minutes, and then check if you can play online.
Visit Elden Ring’s official Twitter account for news about known issues and bugs. Wait until the devs have fixed the problem on their end, and try again later.
Check your connection and unplug your router
If you’re using a wireless connection, switch to a cable connection. As a quick reminder, cable connections are faster and more stable than wireless connections.
Additionally, unplug your router and leave it unplugged for one minute. Meanwhile, restart your computer or console. Then, plug the power cable back into the wall outlet, turn on your devices, and check if you can play Elden Ring online.
Install the latest updates
Make sure you’re running the latest OS version on your device. If you’re running outdated software versions, you may experience all sorts of issues. Restart your device after installing the latest updates, launch Elden Ring and check if you can play online.
