There are plenty of weapons that you can use in Elden Ring. For example, if you’re using a Strenght build, you should definitely go for a greatsword. If you’re focusing on a Hybrid build, you should use light melee weapons.
But there is also another type of weapon that many players usually stay away from thinking it’s not that good. Yes, I’m talking about claw weapons.
Are claws good in Elden Ring?
Claws are excellent weapons in Elden Ring. They can build bleed very fast, they’re very efficient against bosses, and don’t drain a lot of stamina. Claw weapons allow you to deliver fast attacks and take enemies by surprise.
If you prefer a quick playstyle, you should definitely use claw weapons.
As a downside, they’re short-range, forcing you to get close to your enemies. That’s why you can’t really use them efficiently on horseback.
Their short range might prove problematic during invasions. When you’re in a 3v1 situation, you really need that extra range that swords can offer.
That downside aside, claws are very efficient in PvE situations, especially for bosses that can fly such as dragons.
Level up DEX if you’re using claw weapons
If you’re using claws, make sure to level up Dexterity. This attribute allows you to use claws more efficiently. The higher your DEX, the faster and more efficient your claw attacks will be.
Anyway, a few hours into the game, classes don’t really matter anymore. You can simply put points into any stats, irrespective of your build.
What are the best claw weapons in Elden Ring?
The best claw weapons in Elden Ring are the Bloodhound Claws and the Hookclaws. The Bloodhound claws inflict major bleeding damage. You can use the Hookclaws to deliver quick attacks and cause huge blood loss buildup.
You can find the Bloodhound claws in the Volcano Manor’s basement. This means you need to do the Volcano Manor quest to unlock this weapon.
You need to defeat the Bloodhound Knight to get your hands on this claw weapon.
The Hookclaws are perfect for an aggressive playstyle. Wearing the White Mask allows you to exponentially increase bleed damage when using the Hookclaws.
You can find the Hookclaws in Stormveil Castle.
Have you ever used claw weapons in Elden Ring? Are they your go-to weapon or do you rarely use them?
