When you go down in dark underground pathways in Battlefield 2042, you need a flashlight to help you see in darkness. First, you need to equip the flashlight through the loadout swap button. But unfortunately, many players are having a hard time turning the flashlight on.

Instead of randomly trying every button to get the flashlight to work and waste precious time, follow the instructions below.

How to turn the flashlight on in Battlefield 2042

If you’re playing Battlefield 2042 on PC, press the X key to turn on the flashlight. If you’re playing on PlayStation, go to your attachment selection screen and press down on the D Pad. The Down directional button lets you turn on the flashlight when equipped. The same is valid on Xbox.

Be careful when using your flashlight. It can potentially draw your enemies’ attention.

Keep in mind there is an underground tunnel on Orbital that’s nearly pitch black. You need to use your flashlight to see where you’re going. Otherwise, it may take you a long time to find the tunnel exit.
