Valorant is a very interesting shooter that challenges players to uncover their enemies’ hiding places and take them out before it’s too late. In this guide, we’ll talk about shooting through walls and what weapons you can use to do that.
Can you shoot through walls in Valorant?
Players can shoot through walls in Valorant but not every weapon has this ability. Before you attempt to fire at your enemies hiding behind walls, make sure you’re using the right weapon.
If you try to shoot at different objects in the game, you’ll notice the bullet holes vary depending on the materials you pointed your gun at. You’ll also see that bullets can go through walls and they’ll leave a black hole behind.
In other words, you can inflict damage on your enemies even if they’re hiding behind a wall.
But not all bullets can penetrate through walls. And this is because not all the weapons available in the game have this ability.
If you don’t know which weapon can shoot through walls, simply fire at a wall. If you’ll see cracks on the wall, this indicates the bullet did not go through. Another tell-tale sign is the orange sparks you’ll see when the bullet hits the walls.
This indicates the bullet actually got deflected and didn’t pass through the wall. And you’ll know you can’t use the respective weapon to take out enemies hiding behind walls.
But if your weapon caused a puff of white smoke and punched a hole in the wall, that’s a clear indication you can use it to shoot through walls.
What weapons shoot through walls in Valorant?
Weapons in Valorant come in different calibers and levels of wall penetration:
- Low wall penetration weapons include the Classic pistol, the Bucky shotgun, Shorty, Frenzy Pistol, and Stinger SMG.
- Medium wall penetrating weapons are more common and include the Ghost Pistol, Spectre SMG, the Bulldog assault rifle, Guardian Assault Rifle, Phantom Assault Rifle, Marshal Sniper Rifle, Vandal Assault Rifle, and Judge Shotgun.
- Heavy wall penetration weapons such as the Sheriff Pistol, Operator Sniper Rifle, the Ares LMG, the Odin Machine Gun are not that common and can only be used by specific Agents.
Also, take into consideration the material the respective wall is built of:
- You can use low-wall penetration weapons to shoot through wood.
- Use medium wall penetration weapons to shoot through stone walls — pistol bullets will only bounce off.
- Metal is the hardest wall material to shoot through. But the Operator Sniper Rifles or the Odin Machine Gun can still penetrate it.
Keep in mind that bullets that penetrated walls won’t deal as much damage as bullets fired in the open air. So you may need to take several shots to completely take out enemies hiding behind walls.
