Valorant Penalties Explained to Clear Up Confusion

valorant permanent suspension penalty

Many Valorant players received error code 61 lately. This indicates they’ve been banned for dishonest behavior. Some say they did nothing wrong, while others admited their guilt.

In order to clear up confusion, in this guide, we’ll talk about more about how the penalty system works in Valorant and what you should never do in order to avoid getting penalized.

Meet Valorant’s AFK penalty

If you go away from the keyboard for too long, you run the risk of getting an AKF punishment.

What is Valorant’s AFK penalty? The AFK penalty is a punishment that Valorant players get for not using the keyboard fort oo long. Getting an AFK penalty means you’ll get kicked from the game and you don’t have the right to join another match for a specific length of time.

The best approach is to avoid repeating the same mistake multiple times. Your time ban will get longer as you are caught going away from your keyboard multiple times. In other words, repeat AFK offenders will get increased time restrictions.

Out piece of advice to you is this: don’t go AFK when playing Valorant. That’s not nice to your fellow gamers, not to mention it’s not at all useful for your teammates.

The 72-hour chat ban

There is a specific Community Code that all Valorant players should follow. Failure to do so while using the chat will result in a 72-hour chat ban. Valorant uses an advanced system to detect inappropriate or unpolite terms that go against the Code (typed or spoken). Once such terms detected, the offending user account will not be allowed to use the chat for 72 hours.

To avoid such unpleasant events, do make sure to read the Community Code. Should you ever get such a penalty, do as Riot suggests and “use that time to reconsider how to best communicate with your allies and enemies alike.”

Guilt added to permaban

Repeating offenses and using cheats to get the upper hand on other players will result in a permanent ban.

The problem is that cheaters almost never have any sense of guilt for using dishonest methods that could potentially ruin other players’ experiences. Most gaming systems ban the cheaters’ accounts which means they can easily create a new one and bypass the ban thus continuing their dishonest behavior.

One of Riot’s priorities is to ensure the competitive integrity of Valorant. The team wants to make cheating a regretful and very expensive experience. Offers have no other choice but to get their hands on new system hardware and rebuy hacks if they want to try again. You read that right, Valorant puts bans on the hardware, not on the player accounts.

Valorant offenders will soon get a taste of guilt when they get a permaban. The ban message is followed by a very interesting I Understand button. Cheaters will then have to click on that button and admit their guilt. Hopefully, offenders will think twice before committing the same error twice.

Notes:

  • If you are convinced you didn’t break the Community Code and displayed appropriate behavior but you mistakenly got a penalty, submit a ticket to Riot.
  • You can also report other players who were disruptive or inconsiderate during the gameplay.
