Valorant: Cannot Join Queue, One of Your Party Members Was Penalized

valorant cannot join queue party members penalized

There’s an annoying Valorant error that’s been hitting many players lately: Cannot join queue because one of your party members has been penalized. In this guide, we’ll explore why this error appears, what it indicates and we’ll also see if there’s anything that you can do to fix it.

Why can’t I join the queue in Valorant?

This error message occurs when one of your teammates failed to select an agent. So the game thinks you left during agent selection. But players complained the error appears not only when someone in your team does not manage to select an agent.

It can also occur when a random newbie makes a mistake. Overall, gamers are really frustrating because they have to suffer for someone else’s mistake.

There are cases where players simply don’t notice they’re in a queue and don’t do anything. Obviously, if you don’t play, you automatically get kicked out. When this happens, players need to wait 1 hour or sometimes more. And many don’t like this one-hour ban.

The third scenario where you can get this error is if you rage quit the game. So, the best approach is to play fair and stop quitting when you’re in a situation you don’t really like.

Unfortunately, if you’ve got a bad Internet connection and your computer loses the connection to the game servers, the system might interpret this as quitting without a reason and you’ll get penalized. And this made gamers angry:

This one-hour penalty is nuts. I can understand 10-20 minutes, but a whole hour, Riot?! This is why some people don’t want to invest in your free-to-play games, man. Not everyone’s PC/Internet is perfect. Accommodate just a little bit, Riot.

What To Do If You Can’t Join Queue in Valorant

Unfortunately, there is not much that you can do to fix the situation. If you know you did something wrong and you rightfully got banned, then wait one hour until the penalty is lifted.

On the other hand, if you’re completely sure this is a mistake, submit a support ticket. However, until you get a reply to your ticket, chanced are the ban will already be lifted.

We hope you don’t ever get that one-hour ban. But at least now you know why that happens.

  1. ive been banned for a long time my internet and my pc arent established to do gaming but it can run and many times i get crashes and erros its just dumb that riot made a game, that you can get banned while being afk. riot needs to change this because there arent many people playing bercause of these time outs. And i k now many people well be saying what was you timeouts. 7/27/2121 this is such a weird ban just because of my teamates not picking there agent and my network always turning off. just make a game that has no time outs like fortnite.
