If you have The Sims 4: Seasons installed, gnomes will often appear on your lot during the Harvestfest holiday. The best approach is to praise them and give them gifts to calm them down. Angry gnomes will wreak havoc on your lot.
Trust me, you don’t want to provoke them.

Why are gnomes photobombing my pictures in The Sims 4?
Gnomes will randomly show up in pictures if your Sim has low Photography skills and uses cheap cameras. Think of gnomes as a combo of low photography skills and lousy camera.
If your Sim is a Level 1 Photographer, you’ve got pretty high chances of capturing sneaky gnome faces in your pictures. They can ruin a ton of photos for you.
To avoid these annoying situations, make sure to take lots of photos.
Rest assured, there is nothing wrong with your Sims. This has always been part of the game.
As your Sim’s Photography skill improves and they get a better camera, gnomes will photobomb your pictures less frequently.
