What to do if hatchable eggs spoil in The Sims 4

hatchable eggs spoil The Sims 4

The Sims 4 is sometimes affected by an annoying glitch that causes hatchable eggs to spoil.

This is a major issue as it prevents you from incubating the eggs. Chicks won’t hatch if the eggs keep spoiling. The most annoying part is when you lose golden eggs this way.

But the catch is your eggs aren’t actually spoiled, even if the game thinks they are. They will eventually hatch if you leave them in the coop, even if the game says that they are spoiled.

The hardest part is preventing your Sims from throwing the spoiled eggs away. Your Sims will trash the eggs when cleaning the coop because the game thinks they’re spoiled.

The good news is that you can quickly fix this problem.

Here’s how you can do that.

How to prevent hatchable eggs from spoiling

The quickest way to prevent hatchable eggs from spoiling in The Sims 4 is to place the coop into your house inventory in Build Mode. Doing so will reset the coop and fix the bug that’s causing the eggs to spoil.

Wait for 10-15 seconds and place the coop back into the world.

Go back to Live mode, put the eggs from the coop back into your Sim’s inventory and check if they’re still spoiled. That should no longer be the case.

You can then place the eggs back into the coop and wait until they hatch.

Alternatively, you can simply let the eggs incubate in the coop until the chicks hatch. Spoiled eggs should eventually hatch but you have to prevent your Sims from throwing them out.

Keep an eye on your Sims and cancel any coop cleaning actions lined up in their action queue.

Happy Simming!
