At the time of writing, Discover University is the latest expansion pack launched for the The Sims 4. This expansion challenges you to enroll your Sims in university, take classes in engineering, education or law and get them ready for the job market.
But not all the things are that straightforward. Many gamers changed their mind and came to the conclusion that sending their Sims to university was not such a good idea after all.

This is how you can drop out of university in The Sims 4
Method 1: Withdraw from Term
Before dropping out completely, take some time to think if there is one particular class that’s making your Sim unhappy. Maybe it’s best to simply quit that class only.
Here’s how you can withdraw your Sim from a class:
- Make your Sim active
- Click on the phone
- Select the Work icon (the one with a briefcase on it)
- Click on Withdraw from Term.

Method 2: Drop out completely
If you’re sure college won’t be of great help in your Sim’s life, follow these steps to quit university:
- Take your Sim and move it to a different household
- Once you do that, bring up the phone or the computer
- Select College and then Drop Out.
There is no penalty to dropping out, so there’s nothing to worry about. However, your Sims can never go back to college once they dropped out.
On a side note, if your Sims get expelled from college, they get 4 slots of fear. This usually happens if Sims fail exams two times straight.
University life is a unique experience in your Sims’ lives. Keep in mind that once they dropped out, they cannot return to university. Do take some time to think about it before hitting the Drop Out button.
