Can Sims Own Two Houses? Answered

sims owning multiple houses

Can you own multiple houses in The Sims 4? Sims are not allowed to own more than one house in The Sims 4. But there is a workaround that you can use and we’ll tell you everything you need to know about it in this guide.

This is actually one of the most frequently requested features from gamers. If you played The Sims 3 where Sims could own multiple houses, it’s understandable that you really miss this feature.

I want this so much, I have been asking forever for this! Missed being able to have more than one home!

Being able to own multiple houses brings plenty of advantages for Sims. For example, players would no longer need to move households and lose the current home in the process. Or download too many households simply to fill the lots.

Being able to own multiple houses would be a nice addition as Sims could purchase holiday houses and then rent them out to other Sims.

I would like the ability to own a vacation home in Sulani without moving sims in and out to vacation there. I don’t want to permanently move them there. Another option would be to have rentals and hotels on all worlds. They could include a rental option in lot type.

Workaround to owning two houses in The Sims 4

While the game does not allow Sims to own multiple houses, there is an interesting workaround that you can resort to if you really want to own two houses. Buy a retail lot but never open the store. Build the store but just have it be another house. Of course, you still need a cash register but you’ll never going to use it.

There are other requirements when buying a retail lot for opening a store apart from the presence of a cash register. But you can shrink the required items as small as possible and simply hide them from view. Place them behind other objects or some plants and you’ll forget they’re even there.

And now you know.
