If your Sim is getting bored and the Fun bar is in the red, they’re automatically attracted to computers because they provide the highest fun rating in the household. Sims can do lots of things on the computer. They can play games, check social media, socialize with other Sims, watch TV, and more.
How do I stop Sims from going to the computer?
The best way to prevent Sims from going to the computer is to lock the room with the computer or simply remove the chair. This will prevent your Sims and guests from using the computer.
If the computer is placed on an island counter, remove the bar stool to prevent Sims from using it.
If there’s no chair or bar stool slotted in front of the computer, Sims won’t be able to use it.
You can also place a large object, such as a box, in front of the desk to prevent Sims from using the computer. The box will block your Sims’ path to the PC but still allow you to use the computer to order stuff from it.
Alternatively, you can purchase an object that has a higher fun rating. Sims will automatically gravitate towards the object that has the highest fun rating.
For example, you can buy a radio and let it play in the background. Your Sims will gather around the radio and start to dance.
You can also get a TV set. Sims love watching TV.
Locking the computer won’t prevent Sims from using it. The “Lock for Everyone” option doesn’t always work.
Sims will always find a way to get to the computer and then play games, browse the web or scroll social media.
If nothing works, go to Game Options and disable autonomy. This will prevent Sims from doing things on their own.
