To work overtime in The Sims 4, click on the Phone, select the Briefcase icon while your Sim is at work and click on the overtime option. If your Sim is an ambitious workaholic, they’ll enjoy working overtime.
The option to work off hours is not available for all the Sims 4 careers. It depends on your Sim’s career and typically appears when your Sim is doing certain tasks at work.
The good news is that if you’re pursuing the Salaryperson career, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to work overtime.
Working 10-12 hours a day is the norm for this career path.
If your Sim is a concert musician or conservationist, they can go to work during their off hours.
The same is valid for Sims that are in the Author career with the Workaholic Lifestyle.
Going to work on off hours won’t boost your Sim’s performance. However, too much overtime will make your Sim tense.
If you want to keep your employees happy, don’t make them work overtime too frequently.
Speaking of work, you can use mods to customize your Sim’s work hours.
What to do if your Sims can’t work off hours
If there’s no option to work overtime, you can do various work-related activities and tasks that will boost the skills your Sim needs at work.
For example, if your Sim is working in the IT industry, you can have them do some extra programming after they get home from work or on the weekends.
You can also focus on leveling up additional skills that will boost your Sim’s career. A programmer needs sharp Logic to perform better at work. Logic and programming go hand in hand.
If your Sim is a journalist, they can write books after getting home from work.
If your Sim is a workaholic, having the Loner or Ambitious traits will help them work harder and for long hours. They’ll focus their entire energy on getting promoted.
Follow this strategy and your Sim will become a top dog in no time.
Happy Simming!
