After 10 generations, The Sims 4 will only show 10 generations on the screen. To go to the next generation, you need to scroll through your family tree.
Genealogies do trackback. You can go back to the first Sim you ever made in that family tree.
Unfortunately, after a while, Sims will start to disappear from the family tree as they get culled.
When you play with multiple generations, you’ll also end up with a lot of dead Sims. To better manage those gravestones, build a graveyard and store all your tombstones there.
How to keep things fun when you have 10+ Sim generations
If you have 10+ generations going, make sure to randomize your Sims’ traits to keep things interesting. Chose their aspirations depending on the traits they already have.
If you’re up for a challenge, choose an aspiration that has nothing to do with your Sims’ traits.
Sims that have at least one negative trait will make your gameplay a lot more interesting.
Just go with the flow, let things happen naturally and you’ll be surprised how unpredictable The Sims 4 can be when you stop controlling every single aspect of your Sims’ lives.
Random events will spice up your gameplay.
Additionally, you can leave autonomy on from time to time, sit back, relax and watch how your Sims’ lives unfold without your intervention.
Sticking to a single household for a long time can become quite boring. If you want to speed up your gameplay, you can change the lifespan settings or age up your Sims.
If you want to keep the family founder alive, you can use Ambrosia and Death Flowers to bring them back to life.
Happy Simming!
