The Sims 4 Werewolves lore can be summed up as follows:

An experiment gone terribly wrong
In the ancient land of Myshupotania, spellcasters tried to create clones that did not require food and drink to live. Despite their best efforts, they failed but created vampires instead.
Naturally, vampires needed blood to survive so they started feeding on everyone, including spellcasters. Nobody had foreseen the spellcasters’ experiment could have such disastrous consequences.
It quickly became clear that vampires were going to exterminate all spellcasters unless someone or something stopped them.
Spellcasters turn into werewolves
This realization made spellcasters decide to harness the power of the moon. They created werewolves to fight against the blood-thirty vampires. This marks the moment when spellcasters became mooncasters.
The first werewolves were part of the original mooncasters. Greg and his fated mate Avelina were among the first mooncasters that turned into werewolves.
As a matter of fact, some of the Sims from Moonwood Mills are direct descendents of the original mooncasters. They learned to use the power of the moon from their wolf familiars.
For example, Kristopher Volkov, the leader of the Moonwood Collective if the son of Maria Volkov, one of the original mooncasters.
Moocasters used to tame cowplants and gave them the ability to walk. They used armies of cowplants to fight the vampires. Avelina’s friend, Yina Kia was eaten by an enchanted cowplant.
In their efforts to cure lycanthropy, spellcasters also made a spell that broke the world of Myshupotania into pieces.
Greg and Avelina
Mooncasters and werewolves quickly realized that being a werewolf was a problem due to uncontrollable Fury episodes. Greg and Avelina tried to mitigate the effects of Fury and find a cure for lycanthropy.
Avelina used her telescope to study the moon and the effects that various moon phases have on werewolf Fury. They also discovered the Lunar fish, and the Moonpetal flower.
Unfortunately, Greg’s fury rampages eventually drove him and Avelina apart. He also become fascinated with Fury and run all sorts of experiments to push the limits of Fury. He managed to become immortal but became stuck in a permanent state of Fury.
On the other hand, Avelina was obsessed with her telescope and all the clues suggests she was killed by a meteorite.

Anti-werewolf propaganda
Vampires felt their existence threatened by werewolves, so they decided to use anti-werewolf propaganda to fight back. They spread all sorts of negative rumors about werewolves in an attempt to turn everyone against them.
Additionally, Vlad chased out all the werewolves from Forgotten Hollow after managing to escape from prison.
That’s why werewolves instinctively get angry when they interact with vampires.
The Moonwood Collective pack is now about trying to use diplomacy to combat the harmful anti-werewolf propaganda fueled by the vampires.
They want to prove to non-werewolf Sims that werewolves can be friendly and reliable. Convincing Sims that werewolves are not horrible monsters is a tough job.
The Moonwood Collective leader is closely following his mother’s kindness-based philosophy. He teaches all the pack members to follow this philosophy. So far, he’s been very successful with this adopted son, Jacob.
On the other hand, his adopted daughter Rory moved out and started her own pack, the Wildfangs. They fully embrace their werewolf nature.
To make things even more complicated, Lily, one of the members of the Moonwood Collective is cousins with Lilith and Caleb. They used to be close until Vlad won them over.
Werebies
Celene Lopez, the owner of the Grimtooth bar used to date Lou Howell, a member of the Wildfangs. Greg attacked them and they both caught Werebies.
Celene managed to find a cure with Kristopher’s help. On the other hand, Lou waited until he turned into a werewolf. He’s still trying to find his place into the werewolf world.
