Can you send your teen Sim to university? That would be the natural thing to do if they excel academically. Let’s see if the game lets you do that.
Can Teenagers go to University in The Sims 4?
Teenagers cannot go to University in The Sims 4. They can only attend University after aging up into young adults. Only young adults, adults, and elders can study at university.
However, teenage Sims can apply to university while still in high school. This option is available a week before aging up. If they get accepted, they can enroll as soon as they age up.
Teens can apply to university only if aging is on.
How Can Teens Prepare for University in The Sims 4?
Teen Sims can get a head start on university by building their skills and applying for scholarships before they become Young Adults.
Most skill-based scholarships become available once your Sim reaches Level 3 in the required skill, although acceptance isn’t guaranteed. For the best chance of success, aim for Level 5 or higher before applying.
When your Sim submits a scholarship application, it is automatically considered by both universities. Once they receive their acceptance letter, they can choose which university and degree program to enroll in.
If your Sim doesn’t meet the requirements for a skill-based scholarship, they can still apply for Need-Based Scholarships, such as Education for All and Helping Hand.
Getting a university loan is a good idea if your Sim is low on funds.
Disable Aging while at University
University can take a significant amount of time in The Sims 4, especially if your Sim is taking a full course load.
If you don’t want them to spend most of their Young Adult life earning a degree, consider disabling aging after they move into university housing.
Once they graduate, you can simply turn aging back on and continue playing without losing a large portion of your Sim’s lifespan.
