Get ready to take your Sims 4 decor to the next level with this easy-to-follow guide on how to paint your ceiling!
Simmers have been begging for the ability to paint ceilings for years. Thanks to a recent Sims 4 update, our dream has finally become true.
To paint your ceiling in The Sims 4, go to Build Mode, and select Floor and Ceiling Patterns. Then, choose either Ceiling by Tile or Ceiling by Room.
Hover over the room whose ceiling you want to paint and apply the chosen pattern.
You can paint the ceiling by tile or by room. Any floor tile can be used on the ceiling.
If you want to create a custom pattern, use the Ceiling by Tile option.
Check Out the New Ceiling Paint Options
There are more than 30 new ceiling paint options you can find in Build Mode.
Most of the ceiling paint consists of reusing the existing floor and wall paint in The Sims 4. However, EA has introduced quite a few new color swatches for ceiling patterns.
Of course, if painting the ceiling is not your thing, you can leave it unpainted.
Let’s just hope the unpainted ceilings won’t give Sims the Poorly Decorated moodlet that unpainted walls often do.
Change the Camera Angle To Check Out the New Ceiling
To avoid the illusion of painting the floor from above, adjust your camera angle.
Use the Free Camera option for more flexibility and finer control. This allows you to easily inspect your new home decor from multiple angles.
Simply go to Live Mode, press Alt, and Tab to shift the camera, and check out your new ceiling pattern.
By the way, you can raise and lower the camera in Tab mode by pressing E and Q.
Time to build a base game house with painted ceilings!
Happy Simming!
