The Sims 4: How to hire a nanny

sims 4 hire a nanny

Nannies or babysitters can save the day, especially when your Sims are having their hands full or there’s really a lot on their plate.

Nannies are random young adults, adults, or elders that will come to your rescue and take care of your baby, toddler, or child when a Sim calls for the service.

Nannies can be both male or female and they’ll make sure the kids’ needs are met while your Sims are away.

How to Get a Nanny in The Sims 4

To hire a nanny in Sims 4, pick up the phone, select Hire a Service, go to the Career and Household section, and ask for a nanny.

When the last Sim leaves the lot, you’ll receive a pop-up message suggesting you either hire a babysitter or send the baby/toddler to daycare.

Can you hire a live-in nanny in The Sims 4?

The Sims 4 does not allow you to hire a live-in nanny. Taking care of their kids and developing their skills is one of your Sim’s main responsibilities.

That’s why hiring a live-in full-time nanny is not possible.

What does the nanny do in The Sims 4?

Nannies or babysitters take care of a Sim’s children while they’re not around. Nannies will bathe, feed, change, and interact with kids, helping them develop better skills.

At the same time, nannies will tidy up the house by putting things in their place, emptying the potty, making the beds, doing the dishes after the kids ate, and more.

⇒ Quick Tips:

  • You can leave children alone with babies, but the baby’s needs won’t be met.
  • Nannies can also cook meals and clean the house a bit. They can also autonomously help children with homework.
  • If you leave toddlers with a nanny, they help in growing the child’s skills.
  • Daycare is free but doesn’t allow for skill building. That’s because the close social interaction element is missing. After all, nannies do act as your kid’s new best friend for a day.

Happy Simming!
