Sims 4 High School Years: Do this if grades are not going up

Your teenage Sims start their Copperdale High journey as Grade C students. Their grades are average.

If you value academic success, you can work on improving your Sim’s grades.

The recipe for success is simple.

To get better grades in The Sims 4, make sure your Sim attends all of their classes, does their homework and extra credit work every day, studies for the Friday exams, and gets to school in a good mood.

Unfortunately, many Simmers complained about their Sims remaining stuck on a Grade C level despite doing all the work and acing their exams.

Let’s dig a little deeper to find the root cause of this problem.

Why won’t my Sim’s grades go up in Sims 4?

If your Sim’s grades won’t go up, send your teen to school alone when the skill requirements are checked and the performance bar is almost full. Once the school day is over, and your Sim returns home, they should go to the next grade level.

Once again, ensure the skill requirements have the tick in the yellow dot next to them, and the performance bar is almost maxed out. This indicates your Sim is ready to be promoted to the next grade.

If nothing happens, save your progress, and exit the game. Launch the game again, send your Sim to school alone, and check if you notice any changes.

It seems that you have to send your Sims to high school alone to boost grade performance. Unfortunately, this defeats the purpose of following your Sim to classes.

I guess we need to compromise from time to time and send our Sims to school by themselves to help them get their grades up.

As a quick reminder, straight-A students will get invited to graduate early. This will give them an important advantage in their career. Early graduates will earn money and get promoted faster.

As a downside, agreeing to graduate early will prevent your Sim from attending the Graduation Ceremony.

The same thing happens if your Sim fails to get their grades up. The Graduation Ceremony is by invitation only.
