Prom takes place at the Copperdale High Auditorium every Saturday from 7 PM to 11 PM. Your teenage Sims can party every weekend.
You can use this opportunity to make new friends and help your Sim become more popular. The more popular your Sim is, the higher their chances of winning the Prom Royalty award.
After the prom ends, one of your Sim’s friends will ask you if you want to join the after-prom party.
But in real-life, prom is held once a year, isn’t it? Having multiple proms is unrealistic.
Why is prom every week in The Sims 4 then?
Prom occurs every week in The Sims 4 High School Years by design. The event takes place every Saturday until your Sim ages up or graduates early. The weekly prom system was implemented to give everyone the opportunity to attend the event.
Your Sims can attend several proms until it’s time to graduate.
If you play rotationally, the weekly prom system is a big deal. It allows Sims to go to prom irrespective of the moment they got into high school.
In other words, you can experience prom with multiple Sims and households. You can focus on every teen in your rotation and have an enjoyable prom.
Additionally, Sims age up at different times. Having weekly proms means that these events will always be available for teenage Sims.
Think of proms as high school dance parties that are held every week.
Going to prom is optional
Going to the weekly prom event is optional. You don’t have to attend prom every single time. You can always hit the Skip button if you don’t want your Sim to attend the event.
If you feel that weekly proms make the event less special or overlap with other holidays and events, you can simply skip the event.
Happy Simming!
