Your Sim can give their apartment keys to their friends so they can stop by often. You need to be “Good Friends” with the Sims you want to give your keys to.
To give someone your apartment key, invite them to your home. Interact with your friends and select the “Give Apartment Key” option when it shows up.
If your friendship level is high enough, you should quickly see this option in the Friendly menu.
The option to give your house keys to another Sim is available only while your Sim is at their home.
If you’re at home but the option won’t show up, check your friendship bar and ensure you’re good friends with the other Sim.
If this is not the case, use friendly interactions to level up your friendship status.
How many apartment keys can you give in Sims 4?
You can give as many apartment keys as you want as long as you’re good friends with the Sims you want to give a key to. There is no limitation to the number of apartment keys that your Sim can give. The only requirement is to be good friends with them.
By the way, friends with keys will often take care of your kids. If your Sim is busy, you can rely on visiting friends to take care of your kids’ needs.
However, if your friends hate children, that’s not an option. Make sure your kids’ needs are met while your Sim is at work to avoid them being taken away by the Social Services.
Too many visitors
One downside to giving your friends your apartment keys is that they’ll pop in all the time at all hours. They may even show up while your Sim is on vacation.
Your friends will often come into the apartment and use your Sim’s household items. They’ll eat your Sim’s food, play video games, watch TV, sleep, use your bathroom, you name it.
Basically, they’re always welcome at your place and feel at home even if you’re not around.
If you’re annoyed by this behavior, you can take the keys back. Taking the keys back shouldn’t cause any negative reaction.
