Sims 4 City Living: How to get rid of mice fast

Mice will often wake your Sims up in the middle of the night in The Sims 4 City Living. The squeaky noises can prevent your Sims from getting a good night’s sleep.

Sims will also get the Tense buff when they spot a mouse in the apartment. They’ll also cancel all of their queued actions.

To get rid of mice in The Sims 4, click on the mouse hole on the wall and place a trap. Your Sim will then put a mousetrap into the mouse hole. This will prevent mice from roaming freely in your apartment.

If you select “Complain to Landlord” nothing will happen.

The bad news is that this is only a temporary solution. Sooner or later, those annoying mice will show up again in the apartment.

Moving out to a more expensive apartment should solve the problem. Unfortunately, that’s not an option if your Sim is struggling to make ends meet.

How to get rid of mice for good in The Sims 4

To permanently get rid of mice in The Sims 4, you need to destroy all the mouse holes in the apartment.

To do that, you need to download and install the MC Command Center mod. Then, enable Debug Cheats. While in Live Mode, Shift and click on each and every mouse hole, and select Destroy Object (Debug).

To enable Debug Cheats in MCCC, click on your Sim’s computer, select MC Command Center, and go to MCCC Settings. Then, select Notification/Console/Menu Settings, go to Console Comand Settings, and select Debug Commands in Cheats.

Enable the option, and restart your game.

As a quick reminder, Destroy Object (Debug) is disabled by default.

Do cats interact with mice in The Sims 4?

Cats can interact with mice in The Sims 4. Cats with the Prowler trait are excellent hunters. They will try to catch all the mice that have invaded your apartment.

If there’s a mouse hole in the apartment, your cat will sit in front of it for hours on end waiting for the mouse to come out. When the mouse does come out, your cat will try to catch it.

If your cat is lazy, mice will roam freely in the apartment. Lazy cats won’t try to catch mice.

As you can see, how cats interact with mice in The Sims 4 really depends on the cat. Some will chase and catch mice, some won’t. Some cats are afraid of mice. That’s just the way they are.

By the way, don’t get mad at your cats for failing to catch mice. If you scold them harshly, they may run away.
