How to Extinguish a Fire on the Roof in The Sims 4

Extinguish-Fire-on-Roof-Sims-4

Worried about a rooftop blaze in The Sims 4? The main problem with fires on rooftops is that Sims can’t get to them.

Fires are problematic because everything comes to a halt, and Sims often panic and don’t take any action during those times. You can’t even send your Sims to the bathroom because they freak out about the fire.

Don’t panic, I’ve got you covered! In this guide, I’ll show you how to extinguish fires that erupt on the roof of your Sims’ homes.

How Do You Stop a Fire on the Roof in The Sims 4?

To extinguish a fire on the roof in The Sims 4, use cheats to teleport your Sim to the roof. Then, click on the fire and select the Extinguish option.

Don’t forget to install a sprinkler system in the upper area of your house after putting out the fire.

Another way to deal with rooftop fires in The Sims 4 is to let them burn out. Rooftop fires can take up to 2 Sim days to go out.

You can replace the roof after the fire is out.

However, keep in mind that there’s a very rare possibility of you losing the whole house if you choose to wait until the fire goes out.

Depending on the damage, you can also exit the game after the Options menu becomes available and then revert to an earlier save.

As a quick reminder, you can’t use Options while the fire burns. If you save every 30 minutes or so, you won’t lose much progress.

Why Do Rooftops Catch on Fire in The Sims 4?

Rooftops catch on fire in The Sims 4 because of the Bust the Dust expansion pack, where dust bunnies can explode after getting too filthy. If Sims don’t vacuum the bunnies’ mess, it gets out of control.

Next time, you can remove the floor of the unused rooms so they don’t get too dusty.

Build Outside Stairs

To play it safe, you can build some outside stairs to the roof area and have your Sim use them if this happens again.

Better to be prepared, right?

By the way, if you call the Fire Department to put out the fire, they’ll just stand around.

Happy Simming!
