To disable your Sim’s needs and keep them happy all the time, enable the Cheat Console, Shift and click on your Sim, select Cheat Need and then select Make Happy. Then, Shift and click on your Sim again, select Cheat Need, and click on Disable Needs Decay.
Your Sim’s needs will remain in the green all the time.
Here’s a quick breakdown of the steps to follow.
How do you make Sims not need anything?
- Press Ctrl, Shift, and C
- Type in testingcheats true
- Shift and click on your Sim
- Select Make Happy
- Shift and click on your Sim again
- Select Disable Needs Decay
This option will prevent your Sim’s needs from decreasing.
You can use this method to disable the needs of individual Sims.
By the way, you can use this handy method when your toddlers come home from daycare. Oftentimes, their needs are in the red when they get back home.
How to disable needs for multiple Sims at once
If you want to turn off needs for multiple Sims, Shift and click on your mailbox and select Disable Needs Decay. This option will freeze the needs of all your Sims.
If you’re playing with multiple Sims at once, you can also use the sims.fill_all_commodities cheat to fill up the needs of all the Sims living in the household.
⇒ Quick Tip
If you want to only slow your Sim’s needs down, you can use the Steel Bladder and Hardly Hungry potions. These options are available only for Sims that are pursuing a Scientist career.
What to do if Disable Needs Decay is not working in The Sims 4
The “Disable Needs Decay” cheat will get reset when you travel, go to CAS, or close the game. Enable the Cheat Console, and disable needs decay again.
If the “Disable Needs Decay” option is greyed out or nothing happens when you click on it, exit the game and check for updates. If you’re using mods and CC, update them to the latest version.
If the issue persists, move your Mods folder to your desktop and repair the game.
Disable needs to complete aspirations faster
Your Sim’s needs can sometimes become too demanding and prevent them from completing key actions related to their current aspiration.
Instead of focusing on completing a particular task, your Sim is waving at you begging you to fulfill their hunger or bladder needs.
By disabling your Sim’s needs, they can focus on completing their aspiration-related tasks. This means your Sim will complete their current aspiration faster.
You can then select a new aspiration and unlock additional aspiration-related traits.
Happy Simming!
