The Sims 4 City Living: How to deal with landlords

If you’re planning to move to San Myshuno, get ready to deal with landlords.

They don’t collect rent personally. They rarely appear in the game autonomously but show up when you call them.

Landlords act like repairmen. You can call them whenever you have an issue with the apartment you live in.

For example, if your apartment is infested with roaches or mice, you can call the landlord and have them solve the problem.

You can also have the landlord repair broken items such as faulty wires or leaky pipes.

How do you find a landlord in The Sims 4?

Your landlord appears in your Sim’s relationship panel when you move in. You don’t have to look for them in the city. Simply select the apartment you want to move into, and the landlord associated with it will appear in your relationship panel.

The game will spawn the landlord automatically once you’ve moved in.

You can quickly spot landlords by their green or red overalls.

Build a good relationship with your landlord

Make sure to build an excellent relationship with the landlord. If you’re friends with them, they’ll quickly help you out whenever you need them. They’ll show up and repair broken objects as soon as you call them.

On the other hand, if you’re not in a good relationship with the landlord, they may not show up when you call them. This means your Sim will have to level up their Handiness skill if they want to repair broken items.

Try to strike the right balance between leveling up your Sim’s Handiness skill and calling the landlord, especially if your apartment has the Needs TLC trait.

Remember that calling the landlord too often will negatively affect your relationship with them. They may even refuse to solve the problems in the apartment.

Make sure your Sims pay their rent on time, or else they’ll be on the landlord’s bad side.

Some landlords are really friendly, while others are downright bizarre. Just like the apartments they rent out.

Try to adapt to their personality and get them to help you when something breaks in the apartment.

Can you be a landlord in The Sims 4?

You cannot be a landlord in The Sims 4. You can’t build apartments and rent them out to other Sims.

Instead, you can place an extra bed in your house and get a roommate. You can add multiple beds if you want to have more than one roommate.

Your roommates will pay you rent – sort of. The rent they pay you is actually a portion of your bills.

This means that if you own a cheap house, you won’t get rich no matter how many roommates you have. You’ll need to find other ways to make money.

Happy Simming!
